Key Responsibilities

1. Monitor and ensure quality compliance across SMT manufacturing processes, including solder paste printing, SPI, pick-and-place, reflow soldering, AOI and inspection.
2. Conduct process audits and ensure adherence to quality standards and customer-specific requirements.
3. Monitor and analyze process defects such as solder bridging, tombstoning, insufficient solder, component misalignment, solder voids and open joints.
4. Drive root cause analysis using 5 Why, Fishbone, 8D and CAPA methodologies.
5. Monitor SMT process parameters and implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce rejection and rework.
6. Coordinate with Production, Process Engineering and Maintenance teams to resolve recurring quality issues.
7. Ensure effective implementation of PFMEA, Control Plans, SOPs, Process Flow Diagrams and Work Instructions.
8. Monitor quality metrics such as FPY, PPM, DPPM, rejection, rework and process yield.
9. Conduct process validation, first-piece approval and change-point verification.
10. Handle customer complaints, internal quality concerns and corrective action implementation.
11. Ensure calibration and validation of SMT inspection equipment.
12. Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve process capability and product reliability.

Key Skills

• Strong understanding of SMT manufacturing processes.
• Hands-on exposure to SPI, AOI, X-Ray and Reflow Oven processes.
• Knowledge of solder paste printing, stencil design and soldering defects.
• Understanding of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards.
• Knowledge of SPC, MSA, FMEA, 8D, CAPA and Six Sigma tools.
• Experience in handling process audits and customer audits.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Industry Experience

• Automotive Electronics / EMS / PCB Assembly manufacturing.
• Experience in high-volume SMT production environments.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 requirements.
• Exposure to electronic component assembly and PCBA quality control.
