Job Description

Responsible for overall operations of logistics,”” in and out of the Factory ,Including Ware house (stores, Dispatches & warehouse, implementation of latest logistic strength available across the country) coordinate with Internal & External Customer to achieve schedule adherence, zero-line stoppage & optimum inventory level.


2. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

(Accountabilities associated with the job)

Material In warding, Storage and issuance-

• Highlight stock accumulation, discrepancies and abnormal consumption to purchase & production and establish effective control measures.

• Monitor & review whether plant stores is in line with the production plan - concurrent based on the

inventory.

• Monitor inventory levels closely and make course adjustments in scheduling in consultation with Purchase to maintain target.

• Monitoring of disposal of scrap and rejected material to suppliers/ Vendors as per SOP

• Ensure packing material availability & functioning empty bin tracking mechanism to avoid material supply issues.

• Zero concern due to logistic, Time Quantity-(On time Delivery With Right Quantity against PPC /Customer schedule in accordance Compliance to Customer i.e.EDI/ASN_Green gate pass_Pymac_E Way bill etc)

• Drive Motivate & manage team to meet plant targets in terms of inventory days, minimum stock, timely follow up of material, controlling premium freight etc.

• Monitor material inward planning, perpetual inventory, continuous tracking to avoid line loss

• succinctly capture information about internal and external events, comments or behaviors that have the potential to create issues for the Function

• Review of Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) as applicable.

• Monitoring Min-Max levels for Receipt as well as Issue Stores

• Update the internal communication for schedule Vs Supply. Daily checking of customer Portal for schedule changes.


• Review and monitor the entire process of Receipt and Issue, suggest improvements in the process to

reduce errors and improve automation- Guide team on best practices in the market & ensure

incorporation of the same Dispatch & Logistic Management

• Ensure on time dispatches, to Domestic & Foreign Customer receipts updatation in SAP & maintain control in terms of quantity and value.

• Live reporting to customers on dispatch along with coverage sheet to ensure zero customer line stoppage incidents.

• Address concerns identified through BI reports and rented warehouse reports

• Oversee processing of customer sales return and supplementary invoices

• Daily freight cost monitoring against budgeted sales/ Premium Freight monitoring and related actions.

• Tracking of vehicles with GPS system with 100% transport billing through GPS wherever applicable

• GST adherence/ E-way bill monitoring

• Timely payments to transporters as per TTS/ Manual billing Inventory Control

• Minimize obsolescence, surplus and scrap through proper codification, preservation and handling of stock.

• Ensure effective stock management by practicing FIFO & KANBAN

• Identify & implement solution for non-moving/slow moving inventory

• Monitor and ensure inventory control/accuracy and provide timely report to management

• Implement inventory tracking system to optimize inventory.

• Examine the levels of supplies to determine shortages.

• Review action plan for ageing, non-moving, Slow moving material & key ratios to ensure effectiveness

• Monitor material inward planning, perpetual inventory, continuous tracking for manufacturing locations to avoid line loss

• Review and monitor the entire plan of Physical Stock verification at Vendor End for the material which sent for processing; Reconciliation & Record Keeping; suggest improvements in the implementation; ensure coverage of all potential risks

• Physical stock verification and stock correction activity as per defined frequency.


1. Scrap Management

 Review & Update scrap disposal process

 Monitor & review implantation of scrap & bin management as per Varroc value system

 Ensure disposal of hazardous waste as per the MPCB norm

 Minimize exposure of environmental risk to employee, by ensuring environmentally safe & sound

disposal practices.

 Ensure weighment of scrap and information convey to scrap committee for stock updating

 Establish optimum realization of financial benefit of scarp management and internal recycling program in

consultation with safety team

 Record keeping for scrap material

 Follow up for Timely disposal of Apex Approved Asset

Warehouse Management

 Distribution operations at Warehouse

 Maintain required inventory as per customer schedule plan

 Review stock report on daily basis to take inventory related decision.

 Communicate customer input to concern department for improvement

 Setting up layout and ensure efficient space utilization

 Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system

 Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures

 Review compliance of required MIS reports by plant & Customer

 Ensure optimum utilization of warehouse space & on time receipt of material by customer by effective

logistics planning

Statutory Compliance Management

 Statutory & Legal development and regulation & polices, procedure & Guidelines

 Lead daily operation of indirect taxation related activities & monitor Statutory record

 Design, improve and implement productive and efficient company policies including EMS, QMS,5s etc

 Identify risks or non-conformity issues

 Guide & coach team members on latest updates related to laws and built capability in team to deal with

the changes

 Liaison with govt. authorities

 Shelf life item monitoring

 Coordinate with all types of auditors, and ensure smooth audit

3. MAJOR CHALLENGES

 Transport/ transporter related issues

 Change in customer plan leading to shortage situation in feeding customer lines

4. DECISIONS

(Key decisions which the role needs to escalate to superior)

 Premium Freight for ensuring zero line loss (EBU)

 Stock Knock -off decisions in case of variance



Job Requirement

Skills : Analytical Skills, Coordination skills,

Knowledge of SAP MM, FIFO, and other new techniques, Knowledge of GST, ASN, CC, and E-way bill.

Educational Qualifications

a) Qualifications

 Any Graduate

 Qualifications preferred: PG/Certificate course in logistics

b) Work Experience

 8-10 years of experience

 Auto Industry Related experience- 5 years
